The First People's Hospital of Hangzhou (referred to as “the First”) is the largest comprehensive third-class hospital in Hangzhou, founded in 1923, formerly known as the Zhejiang Provincial Hangzhou Infectious Disease Hospital. It was founded in 1923, formerly known as “Hangzhou Infectious Disease Hospital of Zhejiang Province”, later renamed as “Hangzhou Hospital of Zhejiang Province”, and officially named as “Hangzhou First People's Hospital” in 1966. The hospital is one of the first four hospitals in Zhejiang Province to pass the three-A appraisal, as well as the affiliated hospital of Westlake University School of Medicine, the Fourth Clinical School of Medicine of Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Hangzhou Digestive Disease Hospital. The hospital has several hospital districts, including Hubin Hospital, Wushan Hospital, Chengbei Hospital, Xiasha Hospital and Tonglu Hospital, etc. Among them, Hubin Hospital is located at No. 261, Wunsa Road, Shangcheng District, Hangzhou, which is one of the main hospital districts. The hospital covers an area of 30 acres, with 1,000 authorized beds and 1,480 actual open beds, with an annual outpatient volume of more than 1.9 million and nearly 33,000 discharged patients. The hospital has 54 departments, including respiratory medicine, gastroenterology, neurology, cardiovascular medicine, neurosurgery, urology, etc., which are able to meet the needs of diagnosis and treatment of various diseases.
