The Third Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University (referred to as the “Guangzhou Medical Third Hospital”) is a long-established, strong, tertiary general hospital, located in Liwan District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, No. 63, Duo Bao Road, was founded on December 12, 1899 by the Presbyterian Church of the United States of America, originally known as “Zuoji Hospital”. The hospital has two main hospital districts: Liwan Hospital District (Duo Bao Road Hospital District) and Huangpu Hospital District (Women's and Children's Hospital). The Liwan Campus has 1,000 beds and the first phase of the Huangpu Campus has 500 beds. The hospital has 50 clinical departments and 14 medical and technical departments, with an annual outpatient and emergency department volume of more than 2 million and an annual discharge of about 45,000 patients. The total number of hospital employees exceeds 2,400, including more than 410 senior title personnel, more than 60 doctoral supervisors and more than 140 master's supervisors. The hospital has significant advantages in the fields of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Reproductive Medicine, Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center, etc. Obstetrics and Gynecology is a national key clinical specialty, and the Department of Reproductive Medicine is one of the first units in China to be granted access to human assisted reproduction technology.
